Nail of the Day // Sparkle

Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer 300 Be My Millionaire

Both of these nail polishes are really special. The base polish is a perfect balance between gold and silver which is rather hard to find. The KIKO top coat is one of my favorite glitter polishes of all time. It is actually so sparkly it almost makes your nails glow. I just love the effect.

Nail of the Day - Soho, so hot

Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Color Soho, So Hot 505 Forever Red

This is the most amazing bright red. It does have a little bit of a pink undertone to it so it is not a 'true-true' red but that is part of what I like about it. The pink undertones make it look a lot better with my skin tone than a lot of other reds do. I love the Super Stay range by Maybelline and I love this as well. I cannot remember whether I applied two or three coats but you do definitely need more than one. Over all it was easy to apply and lasted pretty well considering my nails were a mess and my top coat was not in good shape anymore.

Nail of the Day - Nude Sparkles

Basecoat: p2, Intensive Nail! Hardener

It is no secret that I love  sparkles! I just think sometimes it can be hard to pull it off without looking like an 8-year-old did your nails while still making it feel like summer instead of going out at night in October. The great thing about Two Million Dollar Baby is that it has both silver and golden glitter which means you can pair it up with pretty much everything. I applied two coats of the nude color and one thick glitter layer and left out the topcoat. I adore this combination. Actually I am about to do my toe nails the same ;)

Nail of the Day - Get The Blues

I am going out tonight and this is the first color I thought of when trying to decide what to put on my nails. What does it remind you of? - To me it just screams mermaid

Depending on the light it looks more green, blue or purple. The duochrome effect is not as 'strong' on the nails than it was in the bottle but it still looks great. I applied three coats but maybe two would do the job as well.

You can definitely see the brush strokes from applying it but in this case I think it just adds a cool texture to the polish.

Nail of the Day - Two Million Dollar Baby

Topcoat: essence, studio nails, better than gel nails, top sealer

I got this polishes in a set. I have worn Out Of The Dark on its own before and did a blogpost about it: click here. This time I only applied one coat of the base color and one thicker coat of the glitter topcoat. Two Million Dollar Baby basically has the same effect as Kitch Me If You Can. There are big silver metallic flakes mixed with darker golden little shimmer particles. The two different kinds of sparkle give the polish a lot more dimension in my opinion. In the bottle Two Million Dollar Baby looks like  a golden glitter polish but on you nails you cannot really tell if its gold or silver.

Products I've used up - September 2014

September has passed and I feel like now fall is finally really here. This morning when I took the bus to the city I was surrounded by fog and colorful trees. I love this kind of weather.
Now I am happy to eventually use the products that I bought with the new season in mind  - because the ones I used before are used up!
Like pretty much every month I used up Balea Shaving Gel Blueberry Love and like every month I have already bought a new bottle. Some other things I used up that regularly show up in my 'Products I've used up' posts are the Catrice Glamour Doll volume mascara, Carmex Classic Moisturizing Lip Balm and the essence studio nails better than gel nails top sealer high gloss. I have repurchased all of these already (no surprise there :P ).
Something I did not enjoy quite as much as I thought I would was the Yves Rocher Collection Cacao Liquid Hand Soap Cocoa & Raspberry. At the end of the day it is a hand soap so I cannot say that I 'did not like it' since it did its job. Doing the job is simply not enough for me to want to buy it again. Another thing I did actually enjoy was the NIVEA cashmere moments creme oil shower! I love NIVEA shower gels, the only thing that keeps me from buying them more often is the lack of scent. They do offer different scents but the scent is not very strong. Sometimes I want stronger sometimes more gentle scents. Right now I am preferring the lovely scent of the treacle moon shower creme in warm cinnamon nights.
Last but not least I used up the DIADERMINE moisturizer which I am kind of torn about. I think this is the best day time moisturizer I have ever had yet - and that is exactly the point. I like that it has SPF and it does prevent my skin from getting worse but it does not really make it any better. If you have any tips on moisturizers for very dry skin please tell me!

I hope you enjoyed this post - please leave me a comment if you did!

Thank you for reading,

Nail of the day - After Eight

Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer 600 After Eight
Top Coat: Kiko Fancy Top Coat nail laquer
Basecoat: p2, Intensive Nail! Hardener

I put on two coats of After Eight before putting on a single coat of the Fancy Top Coat by Kiko. The glitter top coat is overpowering the green base big time. I had not intended for it to be like that and now that I know how this polish applies I would prefer to pair it with other base colours. Nevertheless I like the effect it gives because you can still tell it is definitely silver glitter and it does not appear too be colourful.

Summer Beauty Haul

I went shopping way too much yet again! - But I did not actually buy a lot of beauty stuff this summer which I am almost proud of ;)

alverde body butter in Vanilla & Mandarin
I am hoping it is the same product that I showed you here - please! Let's hope they only switched up the packaging!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub
I am in love <3 I have had this product for a while now and I think I will do a Skin Care Routine soon. I loved the The Body Shop Body Scrub and wanted the same amazing experience for my face. I read reviews online suggesting this product for dry but blemished skin - which is exactly what I have - and when I saw it was only 8 Euros (you can buy a lot more expensive The Body Shop products) I had to try it.

Weleda Skin Food
This is a repurchase - my skin would be a mess without this product. SInce I am about to run out of this I had to make sure I had a backup.

Pantene Pro-V Conditioner for dry hair
Again this is a repurchase. I had a giant bottle of this before (that literally lasted for over a year) and I am still loving it. Somehow my hair just does not like to be straight and this product is the only way I know that gets it to be straight (well almost). I love this stuff.

L'oréal Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint 120 Ivoire / Pure Ivory
This foundation sounded so amazing and when I swatched it it seemed to be a perfect match - but it is not. It is the lightest shade they sell but it is still too dark for me. :(

Manhattan Glowing Goddess Shimmer Powder Pink Paradise
This is the newest addition to my make up collection. I have been eyeing this product for the last few weeks and had to remind myself constantly that I had set a goal of not buying any more blushes because I already own a ridiculous amount. Then they started selling out everywhere and after wanting it for this long I finally caved in and got it! I have not used it yet but I will just after finishing this blogpost when I get ready for the rest of the day ;)

alverde baked Duo-Bronzer 10 Light Bronze
It already broke! I just tilted it to the side a little - and the whole product fell out! I had to collect the broken pieces from the ground before ven using it once :( Other than that I really like it (besides the smell - why do alverde products have to smell like that?!).

KIKO Fancy Top Coat nail lacquer 657
KIKO nail lacquer386
I don't have a KIKO near where I live so when I visited my parents in July I had to stop by their store! I have been looking for a crazy shimmer & glitter top coat from the drugstore for a while now but never found one I really liked. KIKO is not a drugstore brand - but the prices are drugstore level. I was also looking for the perfect light, creamy blue for my nails and thought I had finally found it - just to come home to find that I own the exact same color from Revlon. Well, fail.

KIKO Skinny Fit Kajal 05
Is that not the prettiest packaging you have ever seen? I do not want to throw it away :( I have only used the pencil once and I like it so far. I just wish it had the the same print as the packaging...

Catrice Limited Edition Le Grand Bleu - Matt Lip Cream C01 Never Leave Coral Reef
This was kind of a stupid purchase. Don't get me wrong - I like the product - I simply own way to many red lip products. Well, good thing it was on sale :P

That is all I got! - Puh, that was a long post. I hope you enjoyed and you are having a fantastic summer! Tell me what products I should check out in the drugstore the next time I go shopping there :P

Bye,

Nail of the Day

Maybelline Super Stay Forever Strong 7 Days Gel Nail Color 76 French Manicure

I have not posted a NOTD in months! Maybe that's because I try not to buy any new nail polishes? Well this time I could not resist! First of all I love the color! I own a lot of light baby pinks but this one is more of an actual nude color. I applied three layers in this photo but I already liked the effect with two coats. It's like a "your nails but better" color if you know what I mean^^ If you take a really close look you could see some white spots on my nails but from a normal distance you cannot tell at all.

Beauty Haul

Maybelline Super Stay Forever Strong 7 Days Gel Nail Color 76 French Manicure
I have been on the hunt for a nude nail polish for a few weeks now. You would think nude colors would be easy to find - but no, they are not. I did not want to splurge on an essie or OPI polish but neither did I want to to buy an essence one and than have it be almost see-through. So I bought the Maybelline polish. It is was 4.35 Euro which is not the cheapest but still about four times cheaper than OPI. I only own one other nail polish by Maybelline and I love it. It stays on my nails for almost a week, the color is magnificent and I only need to apply two coats. Let's hope this one will be just as lovely!

Catrice Made to Stay Inside Eye Highlighter Pen 010 In The Mood For Nude
I am totaly in the mood for nude color right now! ;) I swatched this on my hand the day before I bought it and it stayed where it was for the entire day. That's when I decided I had to get it. It is rather expensive for how little product you get and that it is a drugstore product. I still hope it will stay on my water line for just half as long as it stayed on my hand.

This was a very small haul, but this month I decided to do more small hauls instead of one humongous collective one. Do you like it his way or do you prefer for me to do just one big haul every month or so?

Spring Nail Polish Favorites

I cannot wait for spring to finally start! I have already started to go through my closet and my make-up collection looking for what I want to wear when the season  is finally here. (I know that is stupid and you can wear whatever you want whenever you want - but I want to save it for when it really is spring so that I am not already tiered of it when it actually happens. I guess it's the same as not wanting to decorate for Christmas too early...)

Three out of these four nail polishes I have already worn one I have yet to try out.

essence color & go nail polish 146 that's what I mint!
I think I got this polish around this time of the year last year. I really like the color. The polish is said to be a dupe for essie's mint candy apple but owning this color and loving it so much I don't even want to try the original out anymore.

Catrice Eve in Bloom limited edition Ultimate Nail Lacquer C05 Blossom you, blosso me
This polish was limited edition and you cannot get it anymore (sorry :( ). I bought on sale when the time for bright colors like this was already over and waited quite some time to eventually put it on.

OPI nail lacquer Sweet Heart
This is an all time favorite of mine. I love the color, it is perfect for the season, it has amazing quality - what is there more to say?

essie nail lacquer 38 nice is nice
If you do not have this color and you want to get it but you are on a budget you do not have to get the original by essie. There is a far cheaper alternative by essence that I talked about in a previous blog post. I really like pale purple in general - especially paired with nudes.

What are your favorite nail polishes for the upcoming season? Do you even care about what season it is when it comes to nail polish?
