Catrice Glam & Doll Mascara // Review

As of today there are five versions of the Catrice Glam & Doll mascara. They used to be called Glamour Doll mascara but it is still the same product. These are the three versions I have tried so far but I might also try the new rosegold Glam & Doll Sculpt & Volume Mascara. There is also a pink version called Curl & Volume but I only ever heard bad things about that mascara so I probably won't try that any time soon.

Back when I used to only wear non-waterproof mascara this was my favorite and I repurchased it multiple times. It was the first plastic wand I ever tried and I obviously really liked it. It does not necessarily give a lot of volume to the lashes but it did not crumble like almost all other mascaras do. It gives a more natural look to the lashes which I can imagine is not enough for most people. To me it is more important how mascara wears throughout the day because it does not matter if I get perfect, voluminous lashes but after a few hours my under eye area is full of black crumbs.

The wand on this mascara is pretty much the same. This is the mascara that I have been wearing almost every day for over a year now. Since I have switched to waterproof mascara there is no going back. This gives a lot more volume to the lashes than the non-waterproof version does and it holds a curl like no other. This is literally the perfect mascara for me. It keeps my lashes looking good all day long and it does not crumble or smudge. On top of that it is also easy to take off which is not always a given when it comes to waterproof mascara. I do have to admit it is not as easy as non-waterproof mascara, but pretty close. One thing that I should add here is that this mascara is not actually waterproof. Sure, it holds up better than non-waterproof mascara in the rain but I would not recommend going to the pool with this on.

Didn't I just say there is no going back to non-waterproof mascara for me? Well, sometimes there is. Sometimes I want to be extra gentle to my eyes or I know I am not going to be out all day I do like to opt for non-waterproof mascara. What is especially interesting about this mascara is the wand. It is the same as the other two but this time it is curved. I do not know what exactly that is supposed to do for yur lashes but it works fine for me. The finish of this is a little more intense than the original lack volume mascara but it does not hold up as well as the waterproof version does. When it comes to non-waterproof mascaras though this is without a doubt my (kind of) new favorite. (And I adore the packaging - that color is so pretty!)
from left to right: black, lavender & blue

The lavender and the blue version of the Catrice Glam & Doll Mascara are without a doubt my favorite drugstore mascara. On top of that they are also amongst the most affordable mascaras in the drugstore. They all contain 10ml of product and coast 3.99Euro each. Another good thing about these mascaras is that they seem to be rather popular which makes me hope they won't be discontinued any time soon ;)
What is your favorite drugstore mascara?

June Favorites 2015

I cannot remember having such a long list of favorites ever before. Sometimes I do not use any new products or just do not like them enough to write about them here but this month that is not the case!

Catrice Glamour Doll waterproof volume mascara

Allergies are annoying. You sneeze all the time and your eyes get all red and teary. It is not fun. The only good thing allergies did for me was making me realize how freaking amazing this mascara is! I can cry, sweat or even go to bed (do not do that!) without this mascara smudging or crumbling anywhere. On top of that it also keeps me lashes looking good. It basically looks the same in the end of the day than it did in the morning when you put it on.

Manhattan Glowing Goddess Shimmer Powder Pink Paradise

Pink blush and warm weather go hand-in-hand in my world. This is my favorite right now. It is super pigmented so you have to be careful with that.

theBodyShop lemon sugar body scrub

I never would have guessed this but I think this is my favorite theBodyShop body scrub so far. It is a sugar scrub which gives it an interesting texture. The sugar basically melts away as you massage it into your skin. It is also the most moisturizing scrub I have ever used. It almost feels like you have already used am in-shower body lotion.

Garnier fructies hair mask oil repair 3

This is a long lost favorite of mine. I remember loving this mask when I last owned it - why did it take me  forever to repurchase it? I wanted to try other products - but my conclusion is: there is nothing better than this in the drugstore. Of course I have not tried every single hair mask available on the planet but I kept comparing other hair masks to this one and that is when you just know you should probably buy this again. I have dry hair and colored ends (what is left of an awful ombré hair disaster - note to self: do not do that again!) and this hair masks really helps with that. On top of that it makes my hair a lot easier to brush through.

Somehow this combination works amazingly right now. I usually use two to three shampoos at the same time. By switching from one to the other every time I wash my hair my hair does not get used to either one of them and they keep their good effect on my hair for longer periods of time. Maybe I am imagining this whole 'my hair getting used to a product' thing but it works for me so it is fine.

Avril Lavigne, Give you what you like

I listened a lot to Avril Lavigne when I was a teenager. Lately I have been digging up my old records and also looking up some of her 'new' stuff. It just makes me feel so nostalgic...

What are you favorites for the month of June?

Septmeber Drugstore HAUL - Swatches

Somehow this turned into a pretty pink haul ;)
I have been to the drugstore a few times this September and wanted to share some of things I got with you today. I love reading about or watching other people's hauls and I hope you will enjoy mine as well:

This is the third or fourth time I bought this top coat and I will do it again. It makes a significant difference in how long my nail polish lasts and I love the shine it brings to my nails. It truly gives a 'high gloss' finish.

labello Lip Butter Blueberry Blush

I have wanted to buy this for sooooo long! I own a lot of lip balms so I had resisted buying another one for a long time  - but ultimately I caved in. I love the texture, it is like nothing I have ever tried before. It does not help as much with chapped lips like Carmex does but it still does help and sometimes the consistency just feels lighter on the lips.

toothbrush travel case

I know this is not the most interesting purchase of the day but it is something I should have bought a long time ago. I simply never thought of buying it when I was at the store.

This is a repurchase. I really like the natural but still volumizng effect it gives to my lashes. In addition to that it is a rather cheap drugstore product!

Catrice Limited Edition Metallure lip colour C03 Alluring Red

I have been eyeing this collection for a while now - the packaging is simply amazing! I love red lip colours but I already own a lot of them. This colour in particular looks a lot lighter on the lips than I expected it to be but I still enjoy the colour.

L'oréal Paris Elivital Nutri-Gloss Crystal Shampoo

I have never tried a L'oréal hair product before and I have heard great their more professional lines. I am so very excited to try it since I do not think I have ever used a shampoo with glitter in it before! The packaging looks amazing, does it not?

I am sorry this has turned out to be such a long post but I hope you have enjoyed the many pictures I included.

Have you ever tried any of these products?

Thanky for reading!

Fashion, Beauty & Random Favorites April 2014

It's time for monthly favorites! This time they are a little more random but I hope you still enjoy <3

I cannot believe that there was a time when I owned no black clothing at all. I have been wearing the jacket so much in the last month and generally just wore a lot of black. Black and white striped t-shirts, black bags, blag shoes - all of it in black.

I like the effect this mascara gives to my lashes. It separates my lashes really well and keeps my lashes looking good throughout the day - especially in combination with the next product.

I have not mastered curling my eyelashes yet but I have been trying hard this month! Of course the color of the limited edition eyelash curler is simply lovely but it actually works pretty well, too :P

I am still at war with my skin but this has been helping a lot! I never found a face scrub that actually worked for my skin. This is a great alternative to scrubbing your face. It helps clear up my skin and does not dry out my skin like most face scrubs do.

I have been all about nude nails lately. I look at other people and love their spring colored nails and totally fall in love with it  - but when I get home I don't reach for the light lavender, pastel pink or baby blue - no, I put on nude polish again. I simply cannot help it!

Cupper Liquorice & Spearmint Infusion
Just take a second an admire these gorgeous packaging. Have you ever seen pretty tea like this? The box looks great from every perspective - even the ingredients list is cute. When I use this up (which will happen sooner than later) I will make sure not throw the box away but actually cut it apart and put it up somewhere in my kitchen. I am a little liquorice crazy - it is my favorite ingredients in tea and what is the best combination with that? - Mint! I am loving it. In addition to that it is a Fair Trade product which makes it even better.

Ed Sheeran - Sing
Ok, so don't drink and smoke kids! I might not support everything said in this song but nevertheless I have been listening to this all the time singing along terribly off-key dancing through the apartment. Ed Sheeran simply has an amazing voice and I am currently trying to convince my friend to go see him in concert in November.

These were my favorites of the month of April 2014. What were your favorites? Any recommendations?

Travel Make Up Essentials

I am going home to my parents place for almost a month but I did not want to bring a massive amount of make up. I packed things for an everyday look and products I wanted to wear for going out with my friends. I did not pack any foundation because I hardly ever wear foundation and I find it a waste of space in my bag most of the time.

Catrice Big City Life Limited Edition - The Paris Collection
This was a limited edition palette but you can find pallets like this at for example benefit. The palette contains two blushes and an eye pencil which is why I did not pack any additional ones. The eyeshadows are all shimmery but I wore so many mat shades over the winter that I did not feel like packing more mat shadows for this trip. I love all the colors in this palette- they are great for everyday wear! Catrice had three limited editions like this yet and I have some palettes from every collection - I can highly recommend them all. So next time you see one get it!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
If I want to wear eye make up I need to take a primer with me and this is my current favorite. I don't think I have to talk about this much, do I? Everybody knows it and I do not think I ever heard of anyone not liking it.

Catrice Glamour Doll Mascara
I really like this mascara so far but I have not used it long enough to tell you how I really feel about it.

Catrice Liquid Liner 010 Dating Joe Black
I was really into liquid liner for the last year and I still like to wear it now and then. I had other "types" of eyeliner before (like gel or pencil) but I like this one the best.

essence clear brow & lash mascara and Catrice Eyeshadow Duo 070 Double Espresso Macchiato, Please!
The eyeshadow duo that I use to fill in my brows is no longer available, sorry - but the brow gel is! This product is not the best but I have not found a better one yet. It does not keep my brows in place for the whole day but it is still a lot better than not putting anything on. I also like the look it gives to my brows... I do'nt really know what it is :P

Sleek i-Divine Storm Palette
I have had this palette for a while now but never really used it. The only colors I used are the mat black shadow and the other two brown mat shades. I packed this palette because I needed an black eyeshadow and because I want to try using it more! I think I can do great everyday looks with this but also create looks for going out.

Catrice Mattifying powder in 5 shades 020 Sand Beige
This would be way too dark for me to use all over my face - that would look really strange :D I use this product for contouring. I love the packaging and the look of the product. Somehow I also like the smell of it but I don't think it's supposed to be scented ;)

Maybelline Pure Powder 015 Translucent
The first face powder I ever bought was this one just in another color. That is why I cannot compare it to any other ones but I can say that I like it and I repurchased this a few times now.

I really like this concealer and I will buy it again if I ever use it up. The color is perfect for my skin tone and I like how it applies.

Hema lipstick 30 Pure Shine
I packed the Catrice lipstick for going out, the essence one for everyday and the Hema lipcolor for whenever I feel like wearing red :P I did swatches of these lipsticks before so I only swatched the Hema lipstick for this post because I don't think I did that before. It does not have the best quality but considering the price I am fine with that.

And how do I transport all of that? Like this! My brushes all fit into the Zoeva Bamboo Brush Role (on the right) which makes transporting them a lot easier. My make up bag is from Rossmann. I love the design and the size of it. It looks rather small but you can fit a lot of stuff in there. Rossmann sells a wide range of make up bags and they constantly change the designs. If you are on the hunt for a new one definitely check out Rossmann.

What do you take with you when you travel? What palettes or eyeshadows do you bring? How much do you take? And how do you transport it?

Love,

Drugstore & Decor SALE HAUL - Rossmann & Xenos

This is a different haul for me be because I actually managed to only buy what I had intended to purchase :)
Rossmann had a 30% on all mascaras sale going on which was perfect because mascara is what I went there for. I had heard lost of good things about the Catrice Glamour Doll Mascara and I have never tried a mascara with a wand like this. I am almost out of my essence eyebrow gel  and because it is labeled as lash and brow mascara it was on sale as well.

I have been looking for something to store my tea in for what fees like forever! My best friend has this exact box from Xenos in pink, so I had to go there and get one for myself. It was only 1.99 Euro :) It does not fit all of my tea but it has enough space for my favorites.

What is that last thing called? I have no idea. You can put a tea candle inside and then put (in my case) a tart by Yankee candle on top so it melts. I like the simplicity of it and it was only 1.49Euro.

I hope you enjoyed this little haul. I used to do collective hauls more often but I personally like little hauls like this as well.

BIG forgotten Drugstore HAUL

I do not know why but I totally forgot to do this post! I took these pictures in the beginning of January and just rediscovered them! Haha... well, you can still get pretty much all the products so I guess I am still going to post this.

p2 Intensive Nail Hardener
This is a backup for a polish I use every time I do my nails. I love this as a base coat!

essence Get Big Lashes Volume Boost mascara
Review is coming soon!

essence long lasting lipstick 04 On the Catwalk! (top right)
It looks a lot more "red" than I thought it would. To me the color looked really special in the tube (?) but on the lips it does not look the same. Nevertheless I still like the color it was simply not what I expected.
essence lipstick dark romance limited edition 01 Red Romance (bottom right)
I adore this lipstick! I have been wearing it nonstop since I got it! It does look a lot darker on the lips than it does in the swatch. It is the perfect dark lip to me.
Catrice Rocking Royals Velvet Matt Lip Color C02 Of Royal Blood (left)
This I love as well. The color is amazing (and somewhat really unique) and I love the mat finish.

Balea Oil Repair Hair Oil
My hair is very dry and I have been having  problems with frizz lately. I got this to hopefully help with that.

Balea Cream-Oil-Body-Scrub Apple & Cinnamon
The smell is what made me buy it. I did not need a new body scrub but I could not resist the scent!

Alverde Body Lotion City Whisper
I find it hard to find body lotions / butters in the drugstore that I actually like the scent of since a lot of them smell like vanilla or coconut which I just do not like. I love the citrus smell of this one and I discovered alverde's body butters this winter and really enjoyed using them.

Rexona shower fresh deodorant
I have not tried a lot of different deodorants and this one was on sale. I bought it because I heard a lot of good things about Rexona so I wanted to try it myself.

Balea Aqua eye cream
Just like my hair my skin is dry as well. I have used another version of this eye cream before and now I am running out of it.

Balea Aqua cloth mask
This is a repurchase. You look a little like you were planning a bank robbery when you put this on - but it is worth it. I like the effect it gives.

Rival de Loop Clean & Care eye make up remover
I buy this all the time - so I am not going to bore your with that ;)

This is a lot of hauls in one week but this is a collective haul of all the things I bought in December.

See you soon,

 - Myra

September Drogerie Haul & kleine Review

Hallo <3

Balea Dusche & Creme Mandarine

wollteden Schutzengel schon ewig einmal ausprobieren.

alverde Pflegende Momente Körper-Butter

essence Colour Arts eye base

essence get BIG! lashes 3 triple black mascara
essence get BIG! lashes volume boost waterproof

Rival de Loop Clean & Care ölfreier Augen Make-Up Entferner
    Kaufempfehlung!

Maybelline Baby Lips Peach Kiss
Hihihihi - endlich!

Catrice Ultimate Nail Laquer LE Matchpoint C03 Rockby

               Myra
