Nail of the Day - Two Million Dollar Baby

Topcoat: essence, studio nails, better than gel nails, top sealer

I got this polishes in a set. I have worn Out Of The Dark on its own before and did a blogpost about it: click here. This time I only applied one coat of the base color and one thicker coat of the glitter topcoat. Two Million Dollar Baby basically has the same effect as Kitch Me If You Can. There are big silver metallic flakes mixed with darker golden little shimmer particles. The two different kinds of sparkle give the polish a lot more dimension in my opinion. In the bottle Two Million Dollar Baby looks like  a golden glitter polish but on you nails you cannot really tell if its gold or silver.

What are you wearing on your nails today?

Nail of the Day - September 2014

Manhattan Bonnie Strange 006

I have a general obsession with dark red nail polish but this week I am wearing one I have not talked about before! Actually it is more purple than red but because the color is so dark it is hard to tell. I put on three coats (as always) to help the color stay on better but two coats would have been perfectly opaque. I like how settle the shimmer is- when there is no direct light you can hardly tell. I hardly wear anything than red in the colder moths and this one will surly be on my nails more than once this year!

What are you wearing on your nails at the moment? Do you have an all time favorite red?

Thanks for reading :)

Nail of the Day

Maybelline Super Stay Forever Strong 7 Days Gel Nail Color 76 French Manicure

I have not posted a NOTD in months! Maybe that's because I try not to buy any new nail polishes? Well this time I could not resist! First of all I love the color! I own a lot of light baby pinks but this one is more of an actual nude color. I applied three layers in this photo but I already liked the effect with two coats. It's like a "your nails but better" color if you know what I mean^^ If you take a really close look you could see some white spots on my nails but from a normal distance you cannot tell at all.

Beauty Haul

Maybelline Super Stay Forever Strong 7 Days Gel Nail Color 76 French Manicure
I have been on the hunt for a nude nail polish for a few weeks now. You would think nude colors would be easy to find - but no, they are not. I did not want to splurge on an essie or OPI polish but neither did I want to to buy an essence one and than have it be almost see-through. So I bought the Maybelline polish. It is was 4.35 Euro which is not the cheapest but still about four times cheaper than OPI. I only own one other nail polish by Maybelline and I love it. It stays on my nails for almost a week, the color is magnificent and I only need to apply two coats. Let's hope this one will be just as lovely!

Catrice Made to Stay Inside Eye Highlighter Pen 010 In The Mood For Nude
I am totaly in the mood for nude color right now! ;) I swatched this on my hand the day before I bought it and it stayed where it was for the entire day. That's when I decided I had to get it. It is rather expensive for how little product you get and that it is a drugstore product. I still hope it will stay on my water line for just half as long as it stayed on my hand.

This was a very small haul, but this month I decided to do more small hauls instead of one humongous collective one. Do you like it his way or do you prefer for me to do just one big haul every month or so?

BIG forgotten Drugstore HAUL

I do not know why but I totally forgot to do this post! I took these pictures in the beginning of January and just rediscovered them! Haha... well, you can still get pretty much all the products so I guess I am still going to post this.

p2 Intensive Nail Hardener
This is a backup for a polish I use every time I do my nails. I love this as a base coat!

essence Get Big Lashes Volume Boost mascara
Review is coming soon!

essence long lasting lipstick 04 On the Catwalk! (top right)
It looks a lot more "red" than I thought it would. To me the color looked really special in the tube (?) but on the lips it does not look the same. Nevertheless I still like the color it was simply not what I expected.
essence lipstick dark romance limited edition 01 Red Romance (bottom right)
I adore this lipstick! I have been wearing it nonstop since I got it! It does look a lot darker on the lips than it does in the swatch. It is the perfect dark lip to me.
Catrice Rocking Royals Velvet Matt Lip Color C02 Of Royal Blood (left)
This I love as well. The color is amazing (and somewhat really unique) and I love the mat finish.

Balea Oil Repair Hair Oil
My hair is very dry and I have been having  problems with frizz lately. I got this to hopefully help with that.

Balea Cream-Oil-Body-Scrub Apple & Cinnamon
The smell is what made me buy it. I did not need a new body scrub but I could not resist the scent!

Alverde Body Lotion City Whisper
I find it hard to find body lotions / butters in the drugstore that I actually like the scent of since a lot of them smell like vanilla or coconut which I just do not like. I love the citrus smell of this one and I discovered alverde's body butters this winter and really enjoyed using them.

Rexona shower fresh deodorant
I have not tried a lot of different deodorants and this one was on sale. I bought it because I heard a lot of good things about Rexona so I wanted to try it myself.

Balea Aqua eye cream
Just like my hair my skin is dry as well. I have used another version of this eye cream before and now I am running out of it.

Balea Aqua cloth mask
This is a repurchase. You look a little like you were planning a bank robbery when you put this on - but it is worth it. I like the effect it gives.

Rival de Loop Clean & Care eye make up remover
I buy this all the time - so I am not going to bore your with that ;)

This is a lot of hauls in one week but this is a collective haul of all the things I bought in December.

See you soon,

January Beauty Favorites 2014

I spent this month mostly on at home on winter break and studying so I did not wear a lot of make up or tried a lot of new products. These four are products that I do not think I talked about on my blog yet and as I happen to love them all I thought I would share.

Balea Professional Oil Repair Hair Oil
I have never tried any other hair oils before so I cannot compare this to any others. I have no idea what it smells like but I love the scent! It is not a strong scent and it does not linger in your hair but every time I use this I am surprised how much I like the scent. It does not do wonders for my hair, but it is definitely making my hair look less frizzy. Not frizz-free but less frizzy.

Yves Rocher Collection Cacao Cocoa & Raspberry Hand Cream
I do not like chocolate scented products at all (even though I love chocolate!) but this one is different. It mainly smells like raspberries so maybe that's why the definite chocolate scent does not bother me? Besides that I really like how it mouisturizes my skin. I have really dry hands and this sinks into the skin very fast.

essie Nail polish 38 NICE IS NICE
I have talked about this earlier this week in my Nail of the day post, so I do not want to talk about for too long. I really like the color - even though where I live we are expecting snow this week this makes me feel like spring is not so far away anymore.

OPI Nail Polish What Wizardry is This?
This is a sand effect polish from the mini set of the OPI "Oz the Great and Powerful" collection. I loved the collection and was so happy when a friend of mine got me the set for Christmas! I had to wear the dark one for New Years Eve :) It looks simply amazing:
Depending on how the light hist it it looks completely different! I never had a sand effect polish before and I do not usually like the look of them but this one looked so amazing and interesting. I do not think I have seen a polish like this before - I am in love!

This month I tried out products I have never tried before and discovered some new loves where I never thought I would. Product wise I stepped out of my comfortzone and hope to do so a lot more in the upcoming year.

What products did you love this month?

Products I've used up in January 2014

This month I liked all the products I have used up. Four of the five have already been repurchased.

Balea Eye Cream
This is the one product I did not repurchase. I did like it but when the weather started getting colder and my skin got dryer it was not moisturising enough anymore.

Rival de Loop Clean & Care oil free eye make up remover
I have been using this product for years and I don't think I am going to include it in anymore "Products I've used up" posts because up until now I feel like it has been in every single one of them. I like this product and I have tried others but this still remains my favorite.

Balea Shaving gel Buttermilk Lemon
I do not have high expectations for shaving gel and this one does what I want it to do & it smells amazing. If there was an other scent available at dm other than coconut I would like to try that out, too.

p2 Nail Hardener
This and the following product I have not used up entirely but I have had it for s long (over 3 or even 4 years I believe) that it finally turned all sticky and gooey. I love this product and therefore already got a new one. This is the polish that is listed in every Nail of the day or Manicure Monday post I ever wrote. It keeps my nails from being stained and makes ma nail polish last longer.

essence Better than Gel Nails Top Sealer
I have never had a gel manicure so I do not know if this really is better than gel nails but it is definitely by far my favorite top coat. It is super shiny and makes every color nail polish look better and - which seems more important to me - dry faster!

These are the products I have used up this month. Have you tried any of these? Which ones did you use up?

Nail of the Day

essie 38 NICE IS NICE

This is my very first essie nail polish. It is a beautiful light pastel purple that totally feels like spring to me. I do own the drugstore dupe by essence that looks almost exactly the same. I bought this polish at TJ Maxx so I did only pay 3.99Euro for it which is still more than double the price of the essence polish. If I had had to pay full price for it I would not have bought it.
Overall I like the polish a lot, the color looks exactly the same on the nails as it does in the bottle and it does not chip for a long time :)

What have you been wearing on your nails this week?
