Products I've used up - September

Catrice Glamour Doll Mascara waterproofMy new favorite mascara that I have already repurchased! I did not even think about switching it up because I am absolutely happy with this mascara.

Catrice Eyebrow pencil 040 Don't Let Me Brow'nEyebrows are always a work in progress for me. I do prefer pencil over powder so far but it is hard to find your perfect color for that. My eyebrows are black. As in pitch black. The problem it that I cannot fill in my brows with black because that just looks awful. Then what else? That is the big question! This eye brow pencil was okay but I am not too sure about the color yet. I really liked the little brush at the end and repurchased this pencil already - even though I chose a different color this time.

Herbal essences shampoo with honey and apricot for stronger hairThis was a great shampoo. I did not like the conditioner at all but the shampoo was quite the opposite. I do have dry, long hair and it really worked my hair type (It even made it into my June Favorites!). I do have a lot of shampoo at home so I will not repurchase this any time soon... but maybe next year?

NIVEA double effect eye-make-up remover waterproofI wanted to repurchase this but they did not stock it at the store. Since I was already running out I got another product by Nivea because I actually really liked this make up remover. I already did a review of this so I won't talk too much about this.

tetesept limited edition buttermilk splash bath saltI really enjoy tetesept bath products. This does not give of the strongest scent but it turned the bath water bright sunshine yellow and it keeps your skin from drying out. Dry skin in the bath tube? Maybe I am the only one with this problem but tetesept bath products really help with that if you struggle with this as well.

Palmolive Feel Dynamic shower gelI hated this. Well, as much as you can hate a shower gel. I am so happy I have finally used this up! If you want to know what I did not like about this product you read about it in last months Favorites & Flops post right here: click!

alverde eye creme for normal skinBest eye creme ever! I really wanted to repurchased it but I could not. There was no dm near by and I was already running out. That is why I did buy another eye creme by a brand I have never even heard of before instead of my all time favorite. This will be the eye creme I buy next time I run out again!

Yves Rocher cacao collection cacao & raspberry hand creme: This has taken me forever to use up - no joke. In the beginning I really liked the scent but now I just do not want to smell that ever again. Over all this was a good hand creme that has lasted me for a long time but I am really excited to start using a new one I have already waiting for me in my make-up drawer.

New In: Nude High Heels

Ask pretty much anyone what they would consider 'wardrobe basics' and nude heels would be part of their list. I own a pair of nude heels by mango that are super pretty but there are a few problems I have with those. They are a little too big and they are platform peeptoe heels that are a little bit out of style by now. That is why I have been looking for a new pair for a looong time now.

Do I have a special occasion coming up that I would need these heels for? No, I do not. I have decided a while ago to be prepared for special occasions by stocking up on basics before I actually need them. Whenever I have needed a certain piece of clothing for an event I could never find the perfect item and had to compromise on what I wore. In order to prevent that from happening again I bought these heels. - Can you tell how well I can justify buying these? ;)

They are by H&M and I have been eyeing them since they came out months ago. When they went on sale I just had to order them! They are the most beautiful strappy heels ever. The shade of nude is perfect. I love the texture. I love the silhouette. I love everything about them. The problem is that they are rather uncomfortable. I do own higher heels than this but these are my highest heels without any real platform. That makes them rather hard to walk in. Well, I do not have time to practice walking in these before wearing them out. And who says high heels are ever really comfortable?

What do you consider your wardrobe essentials?

September Drugstore HAUL - Part 2

In comparison to the first part of this collective haul this seems to be the a little more boring part. The fun make-up stuff was in the first part of this post which you can check out here: click! This part is more about 'necessities' which can be really hard to find.

Catrice eyebrow stylist 050 Charlie Brow'n Is Black In Town: I owned this before but in a different color. I believe this is the darkest shade they sell. My eyebrows are literally pitch black so I will see how this works for me since I think this is exactly what this brow pencil is supposed to be good for.

cos nature eye creme in pomegranate: I have never even heard of this brand before so I have no idea what to expect at all. I do love the scent of pomegranate but I do not know yet if I would actually want my eye creme to smell of that.

Nivea eye make up remover waterproof: I think I have used this before but I really cannot remember when that was. I originally wanted to repurchase an other Nivea eye make up remover but it seems as though they do not sell that anymore which is really sad because I liked that one a lot.

Garnier eye make up remover 2 in 1: Let's just say the Nivea one did not work out for me - so I had to get another one. How hard can it be to find a good drugstore make up remover for waterproof mascara? Very, apparently.

tetesept Limited Edition winter fairytale bath & cuddle-time bath salt: I do like tetesept bath products and I have used the winter fairytale bath they came out with last year before. We will see if they changed anything about that formula. I do like the scent of the cuddle-time bath salt but I do have to admit the packaging is - in my opinion - a fail. It is just not pretty.

Balea shaving gel blueberry love: I repurchase this all the time so there really is not much to say about it. As always I love the packaging and the scent is amazing.

ebelin cotton pads:  I usually do not include cotton pads in my hauls but this time I thought I would. These are by far my favorites. They are very soft and not harsh on your skin while still being sturdy enough to not fall apart when using them.

essence all about Nudes eyeshadow palette

This palette is part of essence new autumn and winter additions to their selection. Out of all the palettes they came out with I liked this the best. The color selection in the palette makes it perfect for travelling. There are two highlight shades three mat lid colors, one shimmer one and two crease shadows. Of course that is not what you have to use the for but that is how I apply them.

I only wear eyeshadow with eye primer. That is why I applied Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion before swatching these shadows.

These colors swatch and apply beautifully! Usually I cannot recommend essence eye shadows, the quality is hardly ever good. These once I love! They are not unbelievably amazing or incredible colors but they are great basics. Especially for how cheap they are. My favorite color is the one in the bottom right. I like the dark brown with the silver shimmer. It is by far the most special color in the palette.

Actually the places where I have swatched these shadows are pretty true to how they apply. They do look different in the pan than on the lids but the places I swatched them are the right shades.

Final Thoughts

This is not a must buy because the colors are pretty common. It is a great basic or travel palette though. For that purpose it is amazing! If you want it - get it. It is a great eyeshadow palette form the drugstore and I might even try the other versions of this. Especially for price!

What eye shadow palette can you recommend?

Nail of the Day - just fabulous

This is the perfect autumn nail color! The polish itself is a very dark almost black red with lighter pinkish-red-whine color shimmer. I do not own any other color like this. It almost looks three-dimensional. I only applied two coats instead of my usual three. In my opinion you can tell quality differences between for example essence nail polishes or a little more expensive drugstore polishes by Astor or Maybelline. Not that essence polishes are bad, Astor polishes are just better.

September Drugstore HAUL - Part 1

Did I go a little brush crazy? Maybe. Where I live they do not sell these brushes for some reason but here they did! I wanted to stock up on brushes anyway so when I saw these I just got a lot more at once than I usually would.

labello lip butter raspberry rosé

I have just used up one of these and wanted to use up another lip balm I had at home before repurchasing this. I did not do that. I just really missed this one. I had the blueberry and the caramel scent before and decided to try the only other one I am interested in. (If you are not from Germany do not be confused. Here they sell the Nivea lip butters under the name labello, it is basically the same.)

I have wanted a pair of earrings that go "behind" your ear for a few weeks now. I thought I found the perfect pair in these but I am not so sure about that anymore. When I wear them they just look a lot dressier than I thought they would.

essence blush brush

I prefer angled blush brushes to straight ones. I do really like the design of the brushes even though they do look a little childish. I am not quite sure how I feel about the white tip of the brush hairs, these brushes will look really dirty really soon. I own other essence brushes (that you cannot get anymore) and pretty much liked them all. The old ones were a lot heavier which I liked. These new ones do feel a little cheap.

essence eye blender brush

This is the only brush I think I ever read about. I am pretty sure people did not like this for blending their eyeshadow. Why did I get it then? First, I wanted to try it myself; second, Maybe it will be good for blending concealer?

essence eyeshadow brush

I have used this brush already and yes - the white tip is making it look dirty after just using it ones. Other than that I like it so far.

essence smokey eyes brush

I own this brush by essence from a previews collection. I like it for putting eyeshadow around your lower lashes or smoking out your pencil liner.

essence eyeliner brush

This color looks awful on camera. IRL it looks rather pretty. This brush feels by far the cheapest. I have not tried it yet so I do not no if that means it will do a bad job but I am already a little disappointed.

What did you shop for lately? Where did you get your favorite brushes?

September Make-Up HAUL

There are not a lot of products in this haul but there are reasons for that. a) I try to take these pictures before using the products and I just could not wait any longer! b) There are a lot of pictures included in here and I did not want it to be too many.

Catrice Glamour Doll volume mascara waterproof

This was a repurchase. I am not actually out of mascara yet but since there was a sale going on I just got a backup. I do not ever buy backups so that might tell you how much I adore this mascara.

essence all about nudes eyeshadow  02 nudes

I thought about buying this before. The colors are not that special but the swatches look amazing. Since I do love nude eyeshadow and again there was a sale going on I decided to try it.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 35 On and on Bronze

I think I might possibly be the very last person t try this. Everyone loves this. I do not think I have ever heard anything bad about this. I am so looking forward to trying this!

Nail of the Day - Well Plum!

Is that not the most gorgeous purple color you have ever seen? I adore this color. No matter how much I love the color though this is not a perfect nail polish. You do need at least three coats of polish for it to be opaque. The thing about polishes that have thinner consistency like this one is that it is hard do get a nice clean edge. You can tell in some of the pictures. The edge just does not look as clean as it should be. Having said that you cannot really see that from a distance.

I am not the biggest fan of the brushes of essence nail polish because it is rather thin. You can work with it but a thicker brush would make the application easier. The only real downside to this nail polish is it's staying power. After two days I got pretty bad tip wear and it came off on the edges. Two days are still okay for nail polish hardly ever stays on my nails for that long anyways but there are polishes that can do better.

I bet I will wear this a lot in the fall time. I have thing for purple lately ;)

August Favorites & Flops

Gold Statement Necklace by H&M

Considering that it is such a statement piece I have worn this out quite a lot. I do not really like wearing statement necklaces on a night out simply because I feel like that is what everybody is wearing then. At daytime it is a completely different story. I do not see that many people (actually I cannot think of anyone) that I have seen wearing statement jewelry out and about during the day time. I know that wearing a necklace like this during the day time is not everybody's cup of tea but I really like doing that.

This must be one of my most worn nail polishes of all time! This summer I have been wearing this on my toes a lot. It is just the perfect nude shade. It does stay on for a long time and it is super easy to apply. Whenever I do not know what color to wear I get back to this one.

I think this might be my favorite red lip product. It is hard to find the perfect red that actually looks good with your skin tone. I really like the color but I also like the red looks against my super pale skin.

I have worn this a lot lately. I will do a separate pots about this product so I do not want to talk about to much right now. I love the color, I love the way it applies and it does stay on quite well.

Flops:

I do not remember ever disliking a shower gel. Sure, I had ones that I did not like that much but never one a just blankly disliked. I am trying to use this up so hard. I just want to get rid of it. It is not a bad shower gel. It is not the best and for the price I expected a little bit more but I guess it is still okay. What I really hate is the smell. In the bottle it smells great but when you get it out it just smells like a cleaning product. It is awful.

You can tell in the review I did why I regret buying this. The color does not look good on me at all. On top of that it has the driest texture imaginable. I almost feel like I am scratching my lips when I try to apply this. It is just super dry which does not improve the look at all. My lips just looked dry and ripped. I am very disappointed.

Minions

I expected so much from this movie! It was not just an okay movie, it was just bad. The only thing I really liked was the beginning and that had already been part of the trailer. The movie neither surprised me nor did it make me laugh. I love animated movies and this just was not for me. Sorry, but this was a big flop for me.
