Favorites // August

It's a little late for August Favorites but I still wanted to talk about my favorite products and things rediscovering right now. This time it is basically all skincare products which is really interesting to me in the summer time because I do not really wear make-up in the heat, so I go 'back to the basics' most of the days.

Nivea Creme: This is one of those products I have never heard anybody say something bad about. Everyone seems to like it. When I got a cold last week and my nose was as red as a tomato this is what helped cam my skin down again. You obviously should no apply this on wounds but on dry or rough patches it works really well.

alverde Teint Perfection Beauty Serum: I did not realize for how long I have already been using this product in my everyday routine. I got this moisturizer in April and I cannot believe I have not talked about it since. My skin has been changing over the last few months and its getting less dry and more balanced lately. I am very happy about these changes but it also meant I had to change up a few things I used to use on my skin. This serum is the only moisturizer I used on my face in the last month and I love it. Until it absorbs into my skin it just feels wet which I do not like but that feeling only lasts a few minutes and then it really does make your skin look really healthy and good.

alverde Apricot & Calendula Face Scrub: I don't think I have ever talked about this product since I got it. I have been using it off and on for months now and I just like it more and more. I do not use a face scrub everyday - I just use it when I feel like my skin needs it. To me this face scrub is the perfect mix of actually having an effect and not being to harsh. A lot of face scrubs are too drying and too aggressive for my skin or they have no effect at all. If you have sensitive or dry skin but you still want a scrub to help with getting rid of dry patches or clearing out your skin you should definitely give this a try.

Nivea Sun Anti-Age Moisturizer SPF 50: I just typed up a review about this product that I will link here: click. The fact that I am including this in my favorites should already tell you that I am really happy with this moisturizer.

Pretty Little Liars: Don't worry - there will be no spoilers. I just wanted to include this show in this month post because lately I have been getting back into it. I almost forgot how much I used to love it. Pretty Little Liars is one of those shows that is really good when you just enjoy it and blend out all the things that don't really make sense or how dramatic it can be sometimes. Yes, people do not dress like that in real life and yes, A might not have been able to pull all these terrible things off in reality - but it is still an amazing show! (And I love the fashion!). It is definitely addicting - so be warned.

Drugstore Haul // May Part II

This is the second part to my May drugstore haul. These are basically all products that I got for a trip I will take this week, others where simply products that I had to repurchase.

Nivea Repair & Care Conditioner: I got this conditioner because I usually like Nivea hair products and this one was on sale. Even though this is a normal size conditioner I will take this with me on my trip because the packaging is rather travel-friendly.

Balea Heat Protection Spray: I am almost out of heat protection spray and I usually use the spray be Schwarzkopf. Since I do not really love that product I wanted to try something new.

Wellaflex Extra Strong Hair Spray: I am not an expert when it comes to hairspray. I just like the wellaflex hairspray I used so far and so I got another miniature version of it.

Balea Shaving Gel Pink Grapefruit for sensitive skin: My favorite shaving gel is this one by Balea so I got it in a travel size to take along with me on a trip.

Balea Shower Gel with Oil Pearls: I had this shower gel before in a different scent and really liked it. Another - slightly more stupid reason - is that the packaging is really summery, fresh and pretty.

alverde Creme-Oil-Body-Lotion in Jasmine and Sesame: I usually prefer body butter to body lotion but right now there are actually no body butters available in the drugstore that I am interested in. Since I like other alverde moisturizers and this is meant for very dry skin I decided to give it a try.

Travel Container Set: This is something I should have bought a long time ago. Travel size shampoos and shower gels are generally so over prized that this will really pay of in the long run.

What are your must have products for your summer vacation?

Nail of the Day - Nude Sparkles

Basecoat: p2, Intensive Nail! Hardener

It is no secret that I love  sparkles! I just think sometimes it can be hard to pull it off without looking like an 8-year-old did your nails while still making it feel like summer instead of going out at night in October. The great thing about Two Million Dollar Baby is that it has both silver and golden glitter which means you can pair it up with pretty much everything. I applied two coats of the nude color and one thick glitter layer and left out the topcoat. I adore this combination. Actually I am about to do my toe nails the same ;)

What are you wearing on your nails today? And what is you favorite glitter polish for summer?

My Summer Playlist 2015

This is a little selection of the songs I have been listening to a lot lately. I know they are not new releases and some of them have been out for a lot more than just a year but maybe you have never heard them before or just forgot about them.

HAIM - If I Could Change Your Mind

HAIM - Falling

Major Lazer & DJ Snake - Lean On Me (feat. Mo)

Jason Marz - Curbside Prophet (New York Minute)

Karmin - Acapella (acoustic)

Jason Derulo - Want To Want Me

The Weekend - I Can't Feel My Face

If Curbside Prophet does not sound like summer to you I do not know what does. I love all these songs and continue to listen to them on repeat over and over again.

What are your favorite songs for this summer?

Nail of the Day - blue ombré nail art

Esprit, nail polish 815 The big blue
Revlon colorstay, nail polish 170 coastal surf

This is the closest thing to nail art I can do. I applied three coats of each base color and topped it of with one coat of silver glitter. To me glitter nail polish is usually something I would wear in the colder moths but in combination with different shades of blue it reminds me of water in a swimming pool.

Nail of the Day - Get The Blues

I am going out tonight and this is the first color I thought of when trying to decide what to put on my nails. What does it remind you of? - To me it just screams mermaid

Depending on the light it looks more green, blue or purple. The duochrome effect is not as 'strong' on the nails than it was in the bottle but it still looks great. I applied three coats but maybe two would do the job as well.

You can definitely see the brush strokes from applying it but in this case I think it just adds a cool texture to the polish.

August Favorites

August is over and it is time for monthly favorites!
I have tried a lot of new products over the last few months that I never told you about! So here they are:

Alverde Body Butter in Vanilla & Manderine
This is my all time favorite Body Butter! I had this last autumn and when I saw it back on the shelves of dm I had to get it! I do not usually like the smell of vanilla but I love this scent. It moisturizes my skin very well, sinks in quickly and the scent is simply heavnly...

The Body Shop Squeaky Clean Scrub
This is the most effective face scrub I have ever tried. I had a little tub of the The Body Shop Body Scrub in chocolate and liked it so much I wanted to try one of their face scrubs. I have dry, sensitive skin and this scrub is the perfect mixture of cleansing and effective but not too harsh. It just makes my skin feel 'squeaky clean' which is why I feel like the name is simply perfect.

Alverde Eye Creme for every Skin Type
I have been trying out a lot of eye cremes. I think I will do a comparison blog post soon - but just so you know: this is my winner!

CarmexClassic Moisturising Lip Balm
This is an evergreen all over amazing product. I could include this in every favorites post but this month it truly deserves a spot. I have been sick last month and when I am sick my lips are dry and cracked and hurt - and the only thing that helps is Carmex!

Catrice Ultimate Colour Lipgloss Limited Edition Carnival Of Colours C04 Feel the SpiRED
I do not know why the word 'red' is in the name because it is definitely a more pink color. I hardly ever wore lip gloss anymore until I bought this one (I think in July?). I love it! Wearing lipgloss feels so much lighter than wearing lipstick and the gloss just looks so shiny, fresh and effortless. I loved it for the summer time <3

The Body Shop Special Edition Blueberry Body Scrub-Gelee
I bought this in the sale for only 8Euro. I love the scent, the texture (it literally looks like blueberry jam) and the effect it has on my skin. You only need a very small amount of product for your entire body. It clears my skin out and makes it feel smooth and clean.

Now on to some favorites that I cannot really show you but I still wanted to tell you about:

Cheesecake Recipe
I am a little baking crazy :P
I love baking - especially in the middle of the night. Does anybody else do that? It is late at night and I just feel like baking. Due to that I try out a lot of recipes and my I wanted to share last months favorite with you: Cheesecake! I will like the recipe here. I am sorry for all my international readers but its in German. I you want to I can try my best at translating it.

Shake it off - Taylor Swift
OH. MY. GOD.
The new Taylor Swift album that will come out next October is making me jump up and down in excitement! Of course I love her new song Shake it off and have been listening to it on repeat!

Normally I do not talk about FLOPS in my Favorites Posts but this month I had to mention one. The movie Lucy was one of the worst movie I have seen this year. It just felt like it tried to sell basic physics knowledge from school as breakthrough new ideas of the main character. I am not saying that 'this is basic knowledge everyone should know and you should feel stupid if you don't' but I think it is idiotic to sell it as something it simply is not. I felt like they tried to make everything so 'epic' and be so unbelievably 'deep' and 'scientific' and they just failed at delivering that completely. Other than that I also did not enjoy the plot.
Another movie I saw last month that I really liked was Guardians of the Galaxy! I do not think it was as good as everyone says (I feel like it's everyone new favorite Marvel movie) but it was still good. I love Groot <3

This feels like the longest post I have ever done! Is it too long? Please leave me your opinion on that in the comments below.

Thanks for reading,

- Myra

Summer Beauty Haul

I went shopping way too much yet again! - But I did not actually buy a lot of beauty stuff this summer which I am almost proud of ;)

alverde body butter in Vanilla & Mandarin
I am hoping it is the same product that I showed you here - please! Let's hope they only switched up the packaging!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub
I am in love <3 I have had this product for a while now and I think I will do a Skin Care Routine soon. I loved the The Body Shop Body Scrub and wanted the same amazing experience for my face. I read reviews online suggesting this product for dry but blemished skin - which is exactly what I have - and when I saw it was only 8 Euros (you can buy a lot more expensive The Body Shop products) I had to try it.

Weleda Skin Food
This is a repurchase - my skin would be a mess without this product. SInce I am about to run out of this I had to make sure I had a backup.

Pantene Pro-V Conditioner for dry hair
Again this is a repurchase. I had a giant bottle of this before (that literally lasted for over a year) and I am still loving it. Somehow my hair just does not like to be straight and this product is the only way I know that gets it to be straight (well almost). I love this stuff.

L'oréal Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint 120 Ivoire / Pure Ivory
This foundation sounded so amazing and when I swatched it it seemed to be a perfect match - but it is not. It is the lightest shade they sell but it is still too dark for me. :(

Manhattan Glowing Goddess Shimmer Powder Pink Paradise
This is the newest addition to my make up collection. I have been eyeing this product for the last few weeks and had to remind myself constantly that I had set a goal of not buying any more blushes because I already own a ridiculous amount. Then they started selling out everywhere and after wanting it for this long I finally caved in and got it! I have not used it yet but I will just after finishing this blogpost when I get ready for the rest of the day ;)

alverde baked Duo-Bronzer 10 Light Bronze
It already broke! I just tilted it to the side a little - and the whole product fell out! I had to collect the broken pieces from the ground before ven using it once :( Other than that I really like it (besides the smell - why do alverde products have to smell like that?!).

KIKO Fancy Top Coat nail lacquer 657
KIKO nail lacquer386
I don't have a KIKO near where I live so when I visited my parents in July I had to stop by their store! I have been looking for a crazy shimmer & glitter top coat from the drugstore for a while now but never found one I really liked. KIKO is not a drugstore brand - but the prices are drugstore level. I was also looking for the perfect light, creamy blue for my nails and thought I had finally found it - just to come home to find that I own the exact same color from Revlon. Well, fail.

KIKO Skinny Fit Kajal 05
Is that not the prettiest packaging you have ever seen? I do not want to throw it away :( I have only used the pencil once and I like it so far. I just wish it had the the same print as the packaging...

Catrice Limited Edition Le Grand Bleu - Matt Lip Cream C01 Never Leave Coral Reef
This was kind of a stupid purchase. Don't get me wrong - I like the product - I simply own way to many red lip products. Well, good thing it was on sale :P

That is all I got! - Puh, that was a long post. I hope you enjoyed and you are having a fantastic summer! Tell me what products I should check out in the drugstore the next time I go shopping there :P

Bye,

BERLIN FASHION HAUL - Pull&Bear

I spent the last weekend in Berlin and discovered what might be my favorite new store: Pull&Bear! (I looked it up online and there is a store near where I live that I did not know about) I would have liked to buy almost every single item in there - but of course I did not. I bought mostly spring / summer items and almost everything was on sale - and the sale was amazing!

This is beautifully beaded top that would have originally been 25 Euro which I can understand but I would not have paid. It is rather heavy but that makes it feel really expensive. I just love the look, even though it is a size to big for me I am looking forward to pairing this top with jean shorts. I like loose fitting tops with shorts the best. - 3.99 Euro

I have been on the hunt for the perfect fitting jean shorts for what feels like forever. These are a nice length and I like the wash. They were the only item I bought that was not on sale but the prize was still good. - 15.99 Euro

This is a loose fitting, three-quarter length, light knit top with slits on both sides and a leather collar. I own nothing like this. I love the cream withe against the black and the fit is really flattering. This was on sale as well but I do not know the original price.- 3.99 Euro

This dress has a really odd shape on the hanger. It is very loose fitting (notice a theme there?) and a little big on me (it is a size small but the did not have it in extra small so I could not try it on a size smaller) but I like that look. It is just perfectly comfortable and the asymmetry of the pattern and the cut makes it look more interesting. - 7.99 Euro

What can I say? I just love this store! Now I am really looking forward to the warmer days of the year. Have you already bought stuff to wear in the upcoming spring / summer?

Manicure Monday #10 Disney & Glitzertopcoat

essence: Snow White Disney Trend Edition 06 Sleepy

                   - ISANA, Nagellackentferner
                   - Rival de Loop, Clean & Care ölfrei Augenmake-Up Entferner
                   - Balea Rasiergel Buttermilk-Lemon
                   - Catrice Glamazona LE Absolute Eye Colour C03 - Jungle Tresure
                   - Travel Collection (Rosmann) Make-Up Reisetasche

              - SUN DANCE, Sonnenmilch 50 hoch
              - BALEA, Duschpeeling Buttermilk & Lemon
Finde ich super! Ist bereits meine dritte Packung, da meien zweite gerade leer geht.
              - BALEA, Aqua Feuchtigkeits Creme-Gel
                Lichtschutzfaktor beinhaltet.
              - BALEA, Aqua Tuchmaske
              - p2, Color Victim 850 wow, wow, wow!

Manicure Monday #7 wow wow wow!
