Valentine's Day Products // Red

Happy Valentine's Day!
What is the ultimate Valentine's Day color? - Red! At least to me that is. That is why I chose this color to write about today.

Red by Taylor Swift: I had to include this, right? The queen of red lipstick ;) If you lived under a rock so far and have never listened to this album before you should definitely do it!

Catrice Ultimate Color 260 It's A Mat World: This is generally one of my favorite and most worn lip sticks of all time. I love a red lip no matter what occasion, time of the day or season. Can you think of anything more appropriate for Valentine's Day than red lip stick? I just love it.

Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Color Soho, So Hot 505 Forever Red: This is a bright, vibrant red color with pink undertones. It is a little hard to believe it is pretty much the only nail polish in bright red that I own.

Catrice Limited Edition Metallure Lip Color C03 Alluring Red: I do not wear this color enough - I almost forgot that I owned it! Obviously the packaging is stunning but the lipstick itself is great as well.

Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Color Rouge Couture 287 Midnight Red: This is my most worn nail polish of all time. I got this as a gift from my boyfriend's mother for Christmas a few years agao (this is my second bottle). It introduced me to the Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail Polishes which are now my favorite range of nail polishes from the drugstore.

Catrice Precision Lip Liner 080 Read My Lips!: Apparently I like to wear red because this is also my most used lip pencil of all time. I never realized I wear this much red. It stays forever on your lips and it is just the most perfect dark, intense red lip color.

Manhattan Lip Lacquer 20 N Tempting Red: This is my only Lip Lacquer from Manhattan and the only color I liked from their range. Maybe I should try more Manhattan products in the future?

essense Limited Edition the twilight saga breaking dawn part 2 Blush 01 Renesmee Red: It has been a long time since the release of the last twilight movie, has it not? I basically got this as a little souvenir from those times. It makes me rather nostalgic. This is a very pigmented blush but it also looks beautiful on the cheeks. This particular product is no longer available but I highly encourage you to try out a bright red blush. It looks rather extreme in the pan but on your cheeks it can look natural and really refreshing if you bend it right.

Catrice Limited Edition Neo Geisha Lip & Cheek Colour C03 Madam Butterfly: kdkdk This is a typical summer prudct to me. I cannot really tell you why that is, so why not wear it for Valentine's Day? I usually prefer powder blush, so I cannot compare this to any other cheek tints.

Kosmetik Kosmo Eyeshadow 360A bordeauxgold: Kosmetik Kosmo is a brand that is no longer available but you should be able to find a dark cranberry red eye shadow like this by almost any brand. To me the one rule to be able to pull red eye shadow off without looking lie you have been crying all day is to wear concealer or foundation - in any case: make sure to get rid of any redness in your skin.

What is you favorite red product for Valentine's Day?

My Summer Playlist 2015

This is a little selection of the songs I have been listening to a lot lately. I know they are not new releases and some of them have been out for a lot more than just a year but maybe you have never heard them before or just forgot about them.

HAIM - If I Could Change Your Mind

HAIM - Falling

Major Lazer & DJ Snake - Lean On Me (feat. Mo)

Jason Marz - Curbside Prophet (New York Minute)

Karmin - Acapella (acoustic)

Jason Derulo - Want To Want Me

The Weekend - I Can't Feel My Face

If Curbside Prophet does not sound like summer to you I do not know what does. I love all these songs and continue to listen to them on repeat over and over again.

What are your favorite songs for this summer?

June Favorites 2015

I cannot remember having such a long list of favorites ever before. Sometimes I do not use any new products or just do not like them enough to write about them here but this month that is not the case!

Catrice Glamour Doll waterproof volume mascara

Allergies are annoying. You sneeze all the time and your eyes get all red and teary. It is not fun. The only good thing allergies did for me was making me realize how freaking amazing this mascara is! I can cry, sweat or even go to bed (do not do that!) without this mascara smudging or crumbling anywhere. On top of that it also keeps me lashes looking good. It basically looks the same in the end of the day than it did in the morning when you put it on.

Manhattan Glowing Goddess Shimmer Powder Pink Paradise

Pink blush and warm weather go hand-in-hand in my world. This is my favorite right now. It is super pigmented so you have to be careful with that.

theBodyShop lemon sugar body scrub

I never would have guessed this but I think this is my favorite theBodyShop body scrub so far. It is a sugar scrub which gives it an interesting texture. The sugar basically melts away as you massage it into your skin. It is also the most moisturizing scrub I have ever used. It almost feels like you have already used am in-shower body lotion.

Garnier fructies hair mask oil repair 3

This is a long lost favorite of mine. I remember loving this mask when I last owned it - why did it take me  forever to repurchase it? I wanted to try other products - but my conclusion is: there is nothing better than this in the drugstore. Of course I have not tried every single hair mask available on the planet but I kept comparing other hair masks to this one and that is when you just know you should probably buy this again. I have dry hair and colored ends (what is left of an awful ombré hair disaster - note to self: do not do that again!) and this hair masks really helps with that. On top of that it makes my hair a lot easier to brush through.

Somehow this combination works amazingly right now. I usually use two to three shampoos at the same time. By switching from one to the other every time I wash my hair my hair does not get used to either one of them and they keep their good effect on my hair for longer periods of time. Maybe I am imagining this whole 'my hair getting used to a product' thing but it works for me so it is fine.

Avril Lavigne, Give you what you like

I listened a lot to Avril Lavigne when I was a teenager. Lately I have been digging up my old records and also looking up some of her 'new' stuff. It just makes me feel so nostalgic...

What are you favorites for the month of June?

Winter Playlist

I have not done a playlist post in a really long time. These following songs are just a few examples of what music I have been listening to for the past weeks (maybe even months). Hopefully there are some new or rediscoveries for you in there:

Wilkinson - Afterglow

That song is cool but can we talk about that video?! I personally just love it.

Banks - Waiting Game

I love how different this song is. The one thing that bugs me about it is that I think I heard it in a movie soundtrack before but I cannot for the life of me remember what film it was :(

Ed Harcourt The Way That I Live

This has been my Christmas soundtrack for 2014 and I still love it. I think this is also my favorite commercial ever. (Burberry ads are simply the best)

Taylor Swift's cover of Vance Joy's Riptide

No need to say that I have been listening to 1989 pretty much every single day since it came out but I wanted to share something maybe a little less obvious. I love this cover song!

Ed Sheeran - Tenerife Sea

This is one of my favorite Ed Sheeran songs ever. I could insert a ton more of his music (like Give Me Love, I never grow tired of that song either) but I thought one was enough for this list. I went to see him live in concert in November - it was amazing! I have seen him preform before but to see somebody do a show like that just on their own is truly mind-blowing.

I hope you enjoyed this little different post - definitely leave me your music favorites down below in the comments! You can never get too many good music recommendations.

Love,
  Myra

P.S.: I did a Spring Playlist last year, you can check it out right here.

Favorites 2014

Hello there!

There are a lot of products I enjoyed using last year and now I want to share those with you that I actually discovered in 2014!

I resisted buying the labello (or NIVEA) lip butters for sooo long, since if there is one thing I clearly have enough of it is lip balms. It did not replace my Carmex obsession but I still loved using this at home. Skincare was a big deal for me in 2014 because my skin just seemed to get dryer and dryer. What helped were the Weleda Skin Food and the alverde eye creme for every skin type. I did an entire review on the face creme that I will link here. Another product I repurchased again in 2014 was the Catrice Glamour Doll volume mascara. I loved it especially in combination with my (beautiful)  essence bloom me up! Limited Edition eyelash curler 01 lovely lavender

Something not beauty related that still had to be mentioned is Taylor Swifts new album 1989! I am in love with it! The only thing I do not get is why the two bonus tracks are not regularly included in the record - they are two of my favorite tracks of the album! Buy the D.L.X. version if you can!

One last thing that I wanted to talk about is a book: The fault in our stars by John Green. I read this in December 2014 and simply wanted to recommend everybody to give it a try, it is a truly amazing book!

Love,

  Myra

Fashion, Beauty & Random Favorites April 2014

It's time for monthly favorites! This time they are a little more random but I hope you still enjoy <3

I cannot believe that there was a time when I owned no black clothing at all. I have been wearing the jacket so much in the last month and generally just wore a lot of black. Black and white striped t-shirts, black bags, blag shoes - all of it in black.

I like the effect this mascara gives to my lashes. It separates my lashes really well and keeps my lashes looking good throughout the day - especially in combination with the next product.

I have not mastered curling my eyelashes yet but I have been trying hard this month! Of course the color of the limited edition eyelash curler is simply lovely but it actually works pretty well, too :P

I am still at war with my skin but this has been helping a lot! I never found a face scrub that actually worked for my skin. This is a great alternative to scrubbing your face. It helps clear up my skin and does not dry out my skin like most face scrubs do.

I have been all about nude nails lately. I look at other people and love their spring colored nails and totally fall in love with it  - but when I get home I don't reach for the light lavender, pastel pink or baby blue - no, I put on nude polish again. I simply cannot help it!

Cupper Liquorice & Spearmint Infusion
Just take a second an admire these gorgeous packaging. Have you ever seen pretty tea like this? The box looks great from every perspective - even the ingredients list is cute. When I use this up (which will happen sooner than later) I will make sure not throw the box away but actually cut it apart and put it up somewhere in my kitchen. I am a little liquorice crazy - it is my favorite ingredients in tea and what is the best combination with that? - Mint! I am loving it. In addition to that it is a Fair Trade product which makes it even better.

Ed Sheeran - Sing
Ok, so don't drink and smoke kids! I might not support everything said in this song but nevertheless I have been listening to this all the time singing along terribly off-key dancing through the apartment. Ed Sheeran simply has an amazing voice and I am currently trying to convince my friend to go see him in concert in November.

These were my favorites of the month of April 2014. What were your favorites? Any recommendations?

February Favorites 2014

It is the end of the month and that means it is time for favorites! I had a really stressful time this February which is why I did not bother to wear more make up than the usual concealer and mascara. That's why this moth there are no real beauty makeup favorites but skin care and random ones.

My skin was going crazy this month! It just got really dry and generally bad :(
What helped with that were the Weleda Skin Food and the Balea hydrating eye cream. I did a review on the Weleda Skin Food earlier this month after just using it for a week and promised an update in my February favorites  post, so here it is: I still love it and would repurchase it over and over again!

I got the eos lip balm in cranberry for my birthday and will soon do a review on that. But it is in my favorites this month so I gues you can already tell I like it very much ;)

Allegiant is the third book in the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. I have not been ready a lot in the last month which is why I have not finished it yet (no spoilers please!). I am not good at book reviews so all I will say is that this series is definitely worth reading. Because I have not been readying for the last year in general I set a reading challenge on Good Reads for myself. Good Reads is an amazing website for book lovers! You can rate books, keep track of what you want to read in the future and check out reading lists of other people! I spent way to much time on there....

Guess what I got for Valentine's day? - Right! Taylor Swift's first album. I have been listening to this a lot. You can check out what else I listen to this month in my Spring Playlist post from last week. Another song that totally got stuck in my head this moth was this one:

Acapella by Karmin

On to my two last favorites. The first one has to be Pull&Bear. I love that shop and if I could I would by almost every single piece in their store o.o The other one are my cream white rose studs. I bought them last year in the sale so you will not find these exact ones anymore but you can get rose studs everywhere. I wore these almost every single day.

Do you have a Good Reads account? If so let me know in the comments :)

Thank you to everyone who ever reads one of my posts <3

My Spring Playlist 2014

Last year I did a spring playlist post and this year I want to do it again! I still listen to all the songs I linked in that post but I thought I would tell you about some more recent additions to my playlist. These are all songs I have been listening to in the past weeks:

Money on my mind by Sam Smith

I also loved How's it going by Martin Felix Kaczmarski but I could not find it on YouTube so here is a link to where you can listen to it: click here.

I was lucky enough to see him preform this song live earlier this month and he sounds exactly like this. It was simply amazing!

Another song that I listen to all the time is We went through the storm by Alex Arcoleo but I could not find that on YouTube either so here is the link: click here.

Of course - as always - I am listening a lot to Taylor Swift but I don't have to link any of her songs here, right? People know her songs ;) (Right now I have Holy ground and Starlight on repeat)

I have been listening to more songs than these six but I did not want to do too long of a post - and now maybe I have enough left to link some new ones in my February Favorites? Who knows :P

What have you been listening to lately? Any tips?

- Myra
