Products I've used up in March 2014

Manhatten Wake Up Concealer
I finally used it up! The color is the perfect match for my skin but I will not repurchase this product because I found a concealer that I like a lot better. I have had this product forever but the consistency did not change over time which is great.

NARS eyeshadow base
I think I have used this base for about a year now. I have big trouble making my eye make up last longer than an hour without creasing like crazy. After trying out what feels like every drugstore eyeshadow base available and nothing being able to do the job I decided that it was time to switch to high end alternatives. Missglamorazzi on YouTube uses this product in all of her tutorials and so this is what I decided to give it a try. Now that I also own the Urban Decay Primer Potion I have to admit I like it better than the NARS one so I will not repurchase this.

essence get BIG! lashes mascara
I liked this mascara but again I found one I like better - notice a theme here? I thought this mascara was ok. It made my lashes longer and gave me more volume but there are mascaras that have a bigger effect on my lashes. Another thing that bothered was that after just a short period of time I had those annoying little black clumps around my eye area.

essence lash & brow mascara
This is a product that I have already bought a backup of! I like it, I talked about it before and I have not found anything that makes my eyebrows stay the way I want them to look like this one does.

batiste original dry shampoo
I cannot compare this dry shampoo to any other because I never owned another one. I have dark hair and this did not leave my hair looking grey or strange after using it. I will buy another one from the same brand but probably in a different scent or maybe the one specifically designed for brunettes?

Garnier Moisturizer
I used to really like this moisturizer but recently it is simply not enough for my skin anymore. I have generally dry skin but since my skin went crazy dry (in what felt like over night) I am on the hunt for new skincare products that help me deal with it.

Next moth I will hopefully be back to a lot more frequent upload schedule.
See you soon,

New In: Leather Jacket - H&M Sale

I went into town looking for something completely different - but of course I did not just buy that. I went into H&M and the sale section was exceptionally small. I did not find anything I liked but one thing: a black leather jacket! I consider that a basic in everyone's closet but I never owned one myself. I just never really found one that I liked and that did not bust my wallet. This faux leather jacket is exactly what I was looking for! It was originally 39.95 Euro and I got it for 50% off. I love the length, the cut and the details on the shoulders.

My style is usually more on the girly, maybe sporty or romantic side but definitely not on the rocker side. The look that I had in mind was "Cara Delevingne for Burberry" (even though I know I will never look like her ;) ). I love Burberry leather jackets but of course those are way above my price range. The only problem I had was - doe it look like a costume on me because it is so out of my comfort zone? I was so unsure I asked cashier twice for how long I could return it.

Now I am not worried about that anymore  and why is that? - YouTube! Allie Evans wore this exact jacket for seventeen magazine not only once but twice! Ha, I feel so chic <3

Another thing I really liked was this dress but I always hesitate to buy things for the regular price - I hardly ever do that. Sometimes I regret that because not everything is still available when I go back to look for it in the sale. I am not sure whether I should pay another visit to H&M and just get it. I really liked it.

Did you get anything from the H&M sale? Do you own a black leather jacket? Would you consider that a basic?

Random HAUL - dm, Müller & C&A

The Great Gatsby DVD -  5.99Euro
Can you believe it? I still have not seen this movie! I wanted to watch it for soooo long and when I saw it in Müller for only 5.99Euro? I had to get it!

essence bloom me up! Limited Edition eyelash curler 01 lovely lavender- 2.95Euro
I adore the color (which is probably the least important thing about an eyelash curler) - it's so pretty! I love the packaging as well (ok, that is even less important). I own an eyelash curler by ebelin but I never use it because it is too small for my eyes. It just does not work for me. I have high hopes for this one.

ebelin face massaging brush - 1.75Euro
My skin is simply not at its best at the moment. I have heard lots of good things about this brush (form YouTubers and from a friend) and I don't really know why I never tried it. It is supposed to used instead of a scrub.

C&A sunglasses - 5Euro
I don't usually shop at C&A. I just don't like their style. I only went in there because it was the fastest way to leave the car park. I feel like the "Ray-Ben Wayfarer"-style sunglasses are the only ones that look good on my face shape. Usually I break my sunglasses after wearing them for a year. I don't know what it is about that 12 month mark but my sunglasses never seem to make it past that :P

P.S.: Sorry for the lack of consistency on this blog. I have bee sick for over a week now and not allowed to leave the bed. It's not an excuse, just an explanation. <3

Lip Balm Favorites

I feel like everybody has problems with chapped lips now and again. I have this problem almost every day. In order to wear lipstick your lips have to "get in shape" first - so I have tried out a lot of lip balms and here is a comparison of my top three.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss
In Germany you can only buy four different versions of the Maybelline Baby Lips. This one does have a peach tint to it (and a little shimmer) but you can hardly see that when you apply it. I like the look it gives to my lips though. I feel like it enhances the natural look of your lips however I do not think anybody but yourself will notice that. Another thing I enjoy about this product is the smell. It is fruity and undeniably artificial but not overwhelming. It is not the most nurturing lip balm ever but it does help.

Carmex Classic
If your lips are truly lacking moisture and are chapped all the time I find nothing to help like Carmex does! I LOVE this stuff. My boyfriend hates the scent but I actually like it. There are different "kinds" of Carmex but I like this one (the original out of the pot) the best. The downside to that is of course that you have to apply it with your finger. When I am out and about I therefore like using other products like the Maybelline Baby Lips but every morning and every evening I put Carmex on my lips. Well, sometimes I forget to... and regret it the next day.

eos lip balm in cranberry
This one I got for my birthday. Eos lip balms are ridiculously hard to get and expensive where I live so it is fair to say that I never ever would have bought this for myself. Therefore I am even happier to receive it as a gift. The smell is amazing and I just love the packaging. Out of the three it is definitely the best looking one. It feels more "waxy" on your lips which is nice because that makes it very smooth without being sticky.

I like them all - that's why they are my favorites. What is your secret weapon against chapped lips? Please let me know, I want to try out new things!

Love,

Travel Make Up Essentials

I am going home to my parents place for almost a month but I did not want to bring a massive amount of make up. I packed things for an everyday look and products I wanted to wear for going out with my friends. I did not pack any foundation because I hardly ever wear foundation and I find it a waste of space in my bag most of the time.

Catrice Big City Life Limited Edition - The Paris Collection
This was a limited edition palette but you can find pallets like this at for example benefit. The palette contains two blushes and an eye pencil which is why I did not pack any additional ones. The eyeshadows are all shimmery but I wore so many mat shades over the winter that I did not feel like packing more mat shadows for this trip. I love all the colors in this palette- they are great for everyday wear! Catrice had three limited editions like this yet and I have some palettes from every collection - I can highly recommend them all. So next time you see one get it!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
If I want to wear eye make up I need to take a primer with me and this is my current favorite. I don't think I have to talk about this much, do I? Everybody knows it and I do not think I ever heard of anyone not liking it.

Catrice Glamour Doll Mascara
I really like this mascara so far but I have not used it long enough to tell you how I really feel about it.

Catrice Liquid Liner 010 Dating Joe Black
I was really into liquid liner for the last year and I still like to wear it now and then. I had other "types" of eyeliner before (like gel or pencil) but I like this one the best.

essence clear brow & lash mascara and Catrice Eyeshadow Duo 070 Double Espresso Macchiato, Please!
The eyeshadow duo that I use to fill in my brows is no longer available, sorry - but the brow gel is! This product is not the best but I have not found a better one yet. It does not keep my brows in place for the whole day but it is still a lot better than not putting anything on. I also like the look it gives to my brows... I do'nt really know what it is :P

Sleek i-Divine Storm Palette
I have had this palette for a while now but never really used it. The only colors I used are the mat black shadow and the other two brown mat shades. I packed this palette because I needed an black eyeshadow and because I want to try using it more! I think I can do great everyday looks with this but also create looks for going out.

Catrice Mattifying powder in 5 shades 020 Sand Beige
This would be way too dark for me to use all over my face - that would look really strange :D I use this product for contouring. I love the packaging and the look of the product. Somehow I also like the smell of it but I don't think it's supposed to be scented ;)

Maybelline Pure Powder 015 Translucent
The first face powder I ever bought was this one just in another color. That is why I cannot compare it to any other ones but I can say that I like it and I repurchased this a few times now.

I really like this concealer and I will buy it again if I ever use it up. The color is perfect for my skin tone and I like how it applies.

Hema lipstick 30 Pure Shine
I packed the Catrice lipstick for going out, the essence one for everyday and the Hema lipcolor for whenever I feel like wearing red :P I did swatches of these lipsticks before so I only swatched the Hema lipstick for this post because I don't think I did that before. It does not have the best quality but considering the price I am fine with that.

And how do I transport all of that? Like this! My brushes all fit into the Zoeva Bamboo Brush Role (on the right) which makes transporting them a lot easier. My make up bag is from Rossmann. I love the design and the size of it. It looks rather small but you can fit a lot of stuff in there. Rossmann sells a wide range of make up bags and they constantly change the designs. If you are on the hunt for a new one definitely check out Rossmann.

What do you take with you when you travel? What palettes or eyeshadows do you bring? How much do you take? And how do you transport it?

Love,
