Catrice long lasting Lip Pencil - 070 I Got You Babe!

This is so strange. The swatch and the packaging of the lip pencil match pretty perfectly but when I wear it on my lips it looks completely different. It looks a lot lighter and almost nothing like the swatch. I do not know how that happens but I do not like it. I am not quite sure what to make of the color on my lips, it is a little too pale for what I like. On top of that it most be the most dry lip product I own. I am sorry, I usually like Catrice lip products (my favorite lip pencil ever is by Catrice) but I do not think I will wear this a lot. I am disappointed :(

What do you think about the Catrice lip pencils?

Drugstore HAUL

I tried not to shop this month - well, epic fail. While I did run out of moisturizer and of course I had to repurchase that, was there really a need for another nail polish? No, there was not.

This is the best drugstore eye creme I have ever used and repurchase it all the time! I can highly recommend this. I have a very sensitive eye area and this does not irritate my skin at all. Love it!

Maybelline Super Stay Forever Strong Gel Nail Color 615 Mint for Life

Again, did I need this? Hell no. But it is soooo pretty! (And it was on sale.) I love the forever strong nail polish line be Maybelline. They have great colors and they really are the polishes that stay on my nails the longest.

Catrice Limited Edtion Nude Purism Pure Shimmer Highlighter

Oh my. I love myself some highlighter but it is so hard to find good ones in the drugstore. For what I have found Catrice simply does the best ones. I am so looking forward to finally wearing this! Doesn't it just look fantastic? (And no glitter!!! Shimmering champagne perfection...)

Another frequently repurchased product. I have very dry skin and this is just heaven for my skin type. Sadly it is a little more expensive....

What have you been shopping for lately?

Drugstore HAUL

Actually I went out shopping a lot but I did not buy a lot and I am very happy about that. Sorry I did not stick to my posting schedule lately but I am back on track now ;)

These are ridiculously expensive. Sadly they are also the best I have ever tried. They last really long time without getting blunt. They also smell really good but I guess that does not really matter when it comes it razor blades.

My all time favorite mascara. I buy it all the time. What is there more to say?

The first swatch was applied with an eyeshadow base underneath, the other one without one. I do like the color but it does not show up as well as I would want it to. In addition to that I feel like it fades away rather easily. It does not crease or anything but somehow the color just vanishes. I am not sure I would recommend it.

I do not know what to say besides 'I love this scent'. The man version reminds me a lot of Puma's I am going which was discontinued a few years ago. They both smell a lot more grown-up then the packaging would suggest but I still adore the flacons.

What is your favorite perfume? What did you shop for lately?

New In: It's a Matt Word

Catrice, Ultimate Colour 260 It's A Matt Word

Should it not be 'A Matt World'? Maybe the native speakers can help me out with this. What is the reference behind 'A Matt Word'? The first thing I could think of was 'it's a mad world'...

Enough about the name - back to the lip stick!

Somehow the lipstick always looks a little shiny in pictures. In real life it is pretty mat.

I do not know why but this color reminds me of something Emma Watson would wear. I am still a little disappointed. When I swatched the lipstick in store it looked a lot less 'plain red'. Now that I am thinking about it that actually happens a lot to me. I own a lot of red lip colors that when I swatched them in the store under the neon lights looked a lot less 'plain red'.

I guess I would call this a semi-mat finish (which does not dry out my lips!).

Do you have any lipstick recommendations for me?

Love,

  Myra

Cookies & Cream Trend Edition by essence - haul & swatches

I have been on the hunt for this limited edition ever since I saw the press release photos but whenever I finally found a store that had put a Cookies & Cream display everything besides some nail polishes was sold out. Yesterday was my lucky day - I eventually found everything I wanted from the collection! It took me forever but I did it P

essence Cookies & Cream TE eyeshadow 01 So hot, donut!
This is the color I wanted the most! I really don't know how to describe this shade besides it actually reminds me of a donut :D I honestly cannot even tell your whether it has warm or cold undertones.

essence Cookies & Cream TE eyeshadow 03 Last night a cookie saved my life!
Applause to essence for those names - I love them. I was hesitant about this buying this eyeshadow. Not because of the quality but because this feels like exactly the kind of shade I buy all the time. The color does not look that special but the finish does. Just looking at the color I would say it is definitely warm but when I take closer look I am not sure yet again.

essence Cookies & Cream TE blush 01 Cakepop, that's top!
Yeah well, there goes my new year's resolution about not buying any more blushes in 2014. But honestly, how could I pass this up? It is so pretty and unique! I adore the color and the finish. It is not shimmery or glittery but has more of an satin finish.
From top to bottom:

These swatches were done without a base and after just putting my finger in the product ones.

Left: No base.
Right: Urban Deckay Primer Potion
I don't know why but in the picture it looks like the side with primer underneath has lost all its sheen. In reality that is not the case. They are a little less satin but they basically look exactly like they do in the pan.

I have not had these products for very long, so I cannot tell you too much about them. But if you are lucky enough t find them in stores go get them! I like the quality, the shades the finish and the price is great as well. I am really happy I found these! <3

Did you get anything from the Cookies & Cream collection? I thought about getting the other light eyeshadow too (it looked really nice and I was impressed with the swatches) but I could not justify buying another highlight color.

Oh, and by the way:

Happy Easter! <3

Spring Drugstore Lip Product Favorites

With spring coming up there is one thing I am getting really excited about and that is brighter lips! I am saving the bright pinks for summer but light blush tones, nudes and reds are exactly what I like to wear this time of the year. Where I live it is still cold outside and it probably still will be for quite some time - therefore I am trying to incorporate things that remind me of spring into what I wear while still keeping warm. Lips is what I feel like the easiest way to do so!

essence 53 All About Cupcake (top left)
essence 52 In the Nude (top right)
These two lipsticks are a part of the old lipstick range of essence. They are rather sheer (which is why 52 In the Nude looks so scary in the tube (?)) but therefore easy to apply and I still really like them. The finish is more glossy which makes the color look fresh and more natural.
essence 52 In the Nude, essence 53 All About Cupcake,

essence 13 Love Me (middle left)
essence 07 Natural Beauty (middle right)
essence 04 On the Catwalk! (bottom left)
These lipsticks have a silky finish that is not glossy like the other ones. They are all part of the long lasting lip stick line by essence (and may I say the packaging is so much better then the old ones!). They are more opaque but not as moisturising. I love all three colors but out of these 13 Love Me must be my favorite.

essence Stay with me long lasting lipgloss 02 My favorite Milkshake
Maybelline Super Stay 10h Tint Gloss 370 Infinite Mauve
Up until now I did not notice that all the products but the Maybelline Super Stay Tint Gloss are by essence. That was not on purpose! Haha. The essence gloss does not "stay with you" that long but it is far more opaque than the other glosses by essence that I have tried. I like to where this with I make up because it sort of tones down the natural red of your lips while still managing to make them look natural and of course nice and glossy. The Maybelline Tint Gloss was a Christmas Gift that I have loved ever since I got it. The only problem I have with it is that you have to have "perfect" lip before (so no chapping or anything like that) because otherwise it will make those "imperfections" stand out even more. It smells like cherries and I just love the color. There is something about it that is very flattering against my rather pale skin. I love it <3

Is it already getting warmer where you live? What are your favorite Spring products (I am thinking about doing a spring nail polish or jewelry post)?
