Products I've Used Up // December

If you celebrate Christmas: Merry Christmas Everyone!

I thought that because it is Christmas today that the internet would be full of people posting Christmas-themed blog posts, pictures and videos (and whatever else you can think of), so I would just post something entirely unrelated to the holidays.

Cos Nature Pomegranate Eye Creme With Pomegranate: This was an emergency purchase. I needed an eye creme and could not get my hands on my usual one so I opted for this product by a brand that I had not even heard of before. It was not bad actually. It has a thinner consistency than my favorite eye creme by alverde but I did not have any kind of allergic reaction to it which was good. I still prefer my alverde one and will therefore not repurchase this. It still was not a bad product at all whatsoever, so if you are still looking for the perfect drugstore eye creme for you, you could still give this one a try.

L'occitane hand creme with almond milk:  This was a Christmas present from last year which means it took me pretty much exactly one year to use it up. In the beginning I did not want to use it because I wanted to save it for... well for what? So I did start using it and really loved it. This is the best hand creme that I ever had. It sinks into the skin quickly while still providing enough moisture and not making my hands feel sticky. I know that it is quite an expensive brand which is why I do not know if I would repurchase it but I can definitely recommend it.

Balea Cool Blossom Shower Gel: I did not enjoy this product. First of all I did not like the scent when using it (I do not plan to by citrus scented body wash for a while now). Secondly, it did dry out my skin a little bit instead of moisturizing it. That is why this time I got a Balea shower gel with oil pearls that are supposed to make it more moisturizing.

bebe Berry Smoothie Body Lotion For Dry Skin: I have found my favorite body lotion which is actually a body butter. It is the alverde body butter - then why did I not use that up? Because alverde changes their scents on a regular basis and right now their body butter is macadamia nut scented and I cannot stand that scent. Macadamia nut is just not my thing. That's why I tried other products. I got this body lotion by bebe because I loved the scent and I had heard good things about it from other people. In the end I really did like it. This a great body lotion but what I need is a great body butter. Body lotion just does not give enough moisture to my super dry skin.

Balea Creme Soap Raspberry & Lemongrass Moisture Care: Balea soaps are a staple in my household. They have a great selection and they are cheap. I really liked the scent and even got compliments for it from people that stayed at my house (which was kind of funny). The only bad thing I can say about it is that after a while the packaging looked really worn out. You can tell from the picture that it is not in the best condition and that just looked bad on my sink. Other than that I do not have any complaints. I already got another (this time sparkly!) soap by Balea to replace this one.

Products I've used up - August

I loved the blueberry version of this. I liked this version. Over all I do like the Nivea lip butters a lot. I use them when I am home or over night since they can make your lips look a little pale. To me this is the lip product I reach for when my lips feel a little dry bit they are not chipped yet in order to keep it that way. When my lips really are at their worst I still prefer my all time favorite Carmex. I do not think I will repurchase this particular version, but maybe the blueberry scent...?

bebe shower gel pomegranate smoothie

Loved the scent, not so sure about the product itself. Considering this is not the cheapest drugstore shower gel I just did not like it enough to repurchase it. Do not get me wrong - the scent was truly amazing and it did leave my skin feeling good - but it just did not wow me. The scent was not as strong as I would have liked it to be, there were hardly any bubbles (I like bubbles, who doesn't?) and in comparison to the Nivea shower gel I used before it did not moisturize my skin as well as that one
did.

alverde Vintage Rose body butter

I loved this product but I think mine has gone bad. I have had this for a long time now and tried not to use it up too fast because you cannot get it anymore. I guess I did that for a little too long. It has not irritated my skin or anything like that but the scent has changed. Luckily there is not a lot left in there but it still feels like a waste to toss it out.

Grapefruit is one of my favorite scents. I also loved the packaging (as I do most of the time when it comes to Balea products). I just liked the blueberry version of this a little bit more.

essence lash & brow gel mascara

This looks so pretty when you buy it - and then it turns all brown and disgusting. I still love it though ;)

essence better than gel nails top sealer

I have been using this for years now! It does a great job and dries really  quickly. The only downside is that get thicker over time until you cannot really use it anymore. There still is product left in there which makes me feel bad for throwing it out.

essence perfume like a trip to New York

Essence perfumes are quite good for what you pay. They are very cheap and do not give off a lot of scent but they do last for a few hours. The scents they carry are all quite young and sweet which is what I like to wear a lot during the day time. I liked this but I do not think I will repurchase it (do they even still carry this particular fragrance?). What I really like though is the name! 'Like a Trip to New York City' - that makes me want to go there and walk on Times Square to the beat of Welcome to New York by Taylor Swift :D

July Drugstore HAUL

It is haul time again! I love watching or reading about hauls! I do not even care what people haul. It can be cloths, it can be fashion, decor or food. Something about it is just so entertaining to me. Hauls just get me excited... especially when I am supposed to be studying... oops...

Catrice Longlasting Lip Pencil 070 I Got You Babe!

I might have gone a little bit lip product crazy. There was a sale going on so I guess I will use that as an excuse. I like wearing lip liner or lip pencils but I do not own a lot of colors so I wanted to add to my collection. The lip lacquer was more of an impulse buy. I swatched it on my hand and waled around with the color on my hand for a while. I just loved it so I went back and got it.

L'oréal hair expertise conditioner for damaged hair

This was on sale which is why I got it. Normally this would be too expensive for me to buy but since I actually liked (not loved) the L'oréal hair mask I bought last autumn I thought I would give this a try.

Pantene Pro-V smooth & sleek conditioner with frizz-control

This an all time favorite of mine that I have repurchased multiple times. It actually does help smooth out my hair and helps with keeping it rather straight.

Palmolive Feel Dynamic shower gel

Everyone seems to love Palmolive's shower gels and I have never tried them. Somehow I am really into trying different shower gel lately. I never really cared too much about shower gel but now I have to hold myself back from buying several at ones.

bebe berry smoothie body lotion for dry skin

I love my shower gel in pomegranate smoothie by bebe so much, I just wanted to try more from their brand. I usually use alverde  body butter but they just came out with the new scents and they are just not for me. I thought since it is summer now I might as well try a lighter body lotion. In addition to that pretty much everything that says 'for dry skin' makes me want to try it.

NIVEA creme

I used to use this all the time. This is pretty much a classic. Now that I own it again I cannot help but wonder how could not repurchase this for such a long time?!

hair ties

Well... I bought hair ties because I needed hair ties. There is not realy anything to say about that I guess ;)

June Drugstore HAUL

There is not a single 'evergreen' product in this haul! Well... I did buy toothpaste and cotton pads, but they did not really have to be included in here, right?

Garnier Fructies hair mask

I owned this mask before but that was years ago. I remember it being amazing and every hair mask I have tried since has failed in comparison. That means I have pretty ridiculously high expectations.

Catrice Glamour Doll volume mascara waterproof

I love the non-waterproof version of this mascara. Usually I stay away from waterproof products but since I tried the waterproof version of my favorite liquid eyeliner by Catrice I wanted to try this one too. My best friend loves this mascara, so I guess I will as well.

NIVEA double effect eye-make-up remover

I needed a new make-up remover that also removes waterproof eye-make-up. Normally I do not really rely on 'this product is great' prints on packaging but this time they got me. I have never heard or read a review on this product but it said 'for a sensitive eye area' and 'removes even extreme waterproof eye-make-up while protecting your eyelashes'. I do not know whether it will be able to live up to that but I love my NIVEA three in one cleansing fluid so I do have high expectations.

NIVEA in-shower body milk with honey & milk

This was on sale otherwise I probably would not have bought it. I owned the original version of this product before and really liked it. Since this is meant to specifically help with dry skin I think I might like this even more.

 bebe shower gel pomegranate smoothie

I hardly ever buy bebe products. I do not know why. I got this shower gel because I love the scent of pomegranate and I hope this shower gel will be more moisturizing than some of the others I owned before.

alverde plant oil soap verbena

I cannot recall where but I heard somebody recommend this soap for cleaning your make-up brushes. I freaking love the scent. If this was a perfume I would wear it.

tetesept limited edition Sundowner bath pearls tetesept limited edition buttermilk splash bathsalt

I discovered my love for tetesept bath products last winter and now I am excited to try the summer limited edition ones.
