Nivea Sun Anti-Age Moisturizer SPF 50 // Review

Is this a sunscreen that also acts as a moisturizer or a moisturizer with SPF? That is what I wanted to know when I purchased the Nivea Sun Anti-Age Moisturizer with SPF 50. Now, after using it for a few weeks, I think I have my answer to that.

My skin is normal to dry and I am pretty much as pale as it gets so in the summer time I need no less than SPF 50. Before trying this product I used the much cheaper version by Sun Dance which is owned by dm. Of course I cannot test how well they each actually protect my skin from the sun but because they are both SPF 50 I would say they both do a good job at that. All in all I prefer the Nivea moisturizer to the Sun Dance sunscreen even if the Nivea one is much pricier. Too me it is worth it and this is why: The Nivea moisturizer might smell like sunscreen (which I like) but it applies like a moisturizer. My skin does not feel sticky at all and I can apply concealer and other products over it after just a few minutes.

The anti-age effect it is supposed to have is something that I do not mind but I also do not believe in it, so I do not consider it relevant for this review. It does claim to be waterproof which is a great plus but again I cannot really test that.

Another thing I love about this product that makes me think about buying the SPF 20 version to use as my everyday daytime moisturizer, is the finish it has on my skin. It just looks amazing. Normal sunscreen can make you look greasy and shiny but this one just gives my skin a healthy semi-mat finish that almost looks like I applied a skin primer or something like that. It is hard to capture that on camera but I tried and I hope you can tell a difference.

Over all this is my favorite sunscreen I have ever used and I would definitely recommend you checking it out.

What is your favorite sunscreen?
